Frequently asked questions
Do Manaras make a residential opener?
No, and that is the point of the brand. Everything they build is commercial or industrial, so nothing in the range is a domestic unit sold on duty it cannot sustain.
What is a jackshaft operator?
It mounts on the wall beside the door shaft and turns the shaft directly, rather than pulling the door along a ceiling rail. It is how nearly every commercial rolling door is driven, and it leaves the ceiling clear.
Which one suits a washdown area?
The waterproof housing. If you run a food plant, a marine yard or anywhere that gets hosed down, a standard operator will corrode. Manaras is one of the few brands with a properly sealed version off the shelf.
What is a high performance door operator for?
Speed. A DH, DS, DT or Allegro drives a high speed door that opens in a couple of seconds, which is what cold storage, clean rooms and busy traffic openings need to hold temperature and keep vehicles moving.
Can you retrofit a Manaras to my existing door?
Usually. We check the shaft, the headroom, the side room and the door balance first, because an operator fitted to a binding curtain burns out whatever the brand.
