Insulated steel, 2 inches thick, at a calculated R-17.66. That is the highest R value Haas lists for a residential door, matched only by the 5000 series in aluminium. Its air infiltration seals exceed the ASHRAE 90.1 standard when the door is fitted with the standard bottom seal and a commonly available vinyl door stop.

The entry level Haas steel door: 2 inch tongue and groove sections with a wood grain face, and polystyrene insulation as an option. It is Florida approved with wind load and impact versions, but not for the High Velocity Hurricane Zone, so for a Miami-Dade or Broward permit we quote the 2400 instead.

What is the R value of a Haas garage door?
It depends on the series. Haas calculates R-17.66 on the 2000 series insulated steel at 2 inches and on the 5000 series insulated aluminium at 2 inches, R-16.18 on the 700 series at 1 3/4 inches, R-13.45 on the 600 series at 1 3/8 inches and on American Tradition, and R-7.45 is available on the 2400 and 2500 series.
How are the sections joined on a Haas 2400 series door?
Tongue and groove. Haas uses that construction on every 2400 series door.
What does the L mean in a Haas 2400 model number like 2480L?
It is the energy efficient insulated laminate back option. Haas lists a tested U factor of 0.215 as available on the 2400 series with that option.
What panel designs does the Haas 2400 series come in?
Flush panel is model 2410. Ribbed short panel is 2460 with carriage windows, 2472 with ranch windows and 2482 with standard windows. Recessed short panel is 2461, 2471 and 2481 in the same window order. Raised ranch panel is 2470 and raised standard panel is 2480. An L on the end of any of those is the insulated laminate back. The ribbed short panel and the recessed short panel are not available in 18 inch sections.
Are dark Haas colours a good choice for a sunny Miami exposure?
Brown, Espresso, Charcoal and Carbon Black include a cool chemistry paint finish, and Haas still does not recommend them for projects with extreme exposure to heat and sunlight. On a west facing garage in full sun we will walk you through the lighter colours first.
What is the difference between a Haas 2400 and a Haas 2500 series door?
The hardware warranty. Haas gives 6 years on the 2400 series and 3 years on the 2500 series. Both are listed at 2 inches thick with R-7.45 available.
How is a Haas garage door protected against corrosion?
Every Haas garage door has a three tier corrosion resistant finish, a polyurethane primer under a polyester finish coat, on the inside and the outside. They also come with a heavy vinyl bottom weather seal.
How airtight is a Haas 2000 series garage door?
The 2000 series has air infiltration seals that exceed the ASHRAE 90.1 standard when the door is fitted with the standard bottom seal and a commonly available vinyl door stop.
Does Haas make a full view glass and aluminium garage door?
Yes. The Residential Aluminum 360 Series is a full view aluminium door, 2 inches thick.
