Safe Realignment

Off-track doors are dangerous. Our technicians safely realign your door using proper tools and techniques.

Root Cause Analysis

We identify why your door went off track (worn rollers, bent tracks, broken cables) and fix the underlying issue.

Track Repair/Replacement

Bent or damaged tracks repaired or replaced to prevent future off-track issues.

Lift cable wound onto the drum at the end of the torsion shaft above a garage door, with the spring beside it
The lift cable wound on its drum at the top corner of the track. When a cable frays or slips off this drum the door drops on that side, twists in the track and jumps out. That is the usual way a door goes off track.
Why CMC

Why choose CMC Door Service

Stop using the opener now

A door off its track is being held by whatever is left of the cable and the roller stems. Running the opener again is what turns a cable repair into a bent section and a new panel. Pull the red release handle, leave it, and call us.

We find out why it came off

A door does not jump the track for no reason. It is a snapped cable, a flat spot on a roller, a track knocked out of line by a bumper, or an opening that has moved. We fix the cause as well as the symptom, or you will be calling again in a month.

Published price before we start

A diagnostic visit is $199. A full roller set is $359, and if it turns out to be cable, that is $359 for the pair. You hear the number before anyone touches the door.

Our repair guarantee

Fixed right or the return visit is free.

If the same problem we repaired comes back within 30 days, we come back and fix it, and the return visit is free: no charge for the trip and no charge for the labor. Parts we install carry the manufacturer's warranty.

It does not cover damage, abuse, accidents, storms or impact, or a different problem in parts we did not work on. After the 30 days, our one year labor warranty on our workmanship still applies.

How a door comes off its track, and what each one takes to put right

A cable snapped on one side

The commonest cause. One lift cable lets go, that side drops, and the rollers on that side pull out of the vertical track, leaving the door hanging crooked. Cables are replaced as a matched pair, never one, because the survivor has done the same number of cycles.

A roller has flattened or seized

Steel rollers with no bearings wear flat, then bind in the track and climb out of it. Miami humidity rusts the stems as well. A full set of nylon rollers is quieter, lasts far longer, and is the fix that stops it recurring.

Something hit the track

A car bumper against the vertical track bends it a few millimetres and the door finds that spot every cycle until it derails. A minor bend is straightened in place; a crushed section is replaced.

The door was already out of balance

A door carrying the wrong spring, or one spring left working on a two spring door, loads one side harder than the other and comes off on that side repeatedly. Correcting the spring is the actual repair.

The opening itself has moved

Older Miami garages with wooden jambs rot at the base and the frame goes out of square, so the door is fighting an opening that is no longer rectangular. No amount of track adjustment fixes that; the jamb has to be made good first.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What makes a garage door come off its track?

Usually a snapped cable, worn or seized rollers, a track bent by an impact, or loose track brackets. Hitting the door with a vehicle is the other common cause.

Can I put the door back on the track myself?

We would not recommend it. The door is heavy, the springs are under high tension, and forcing it back usually bends the track further or drops the door. It is also easy to get hurt.

How much does off-track repair cost in Miami?

Our published Miami repair guide puts off-track repair at $499 on a single-car door and $649 on a double-car door with the track intact. Cables, rollers or track sections that also need replacing are priced separately.

Can the door still be used until it is fixed?

No. Leave it where it is and do not run the opener. Operating an off-track door can jam it completely, damage the panels, or bring it down.

How quickly can you get to an off-track door?

We treat it as urgent because the opening is usually left unsecured. Call (786) 315-9238 and we will get a technician out the same day where availability allows.
