Impact approvals and wind load
Every model above carries a current Miami-Dade NOA for large and small missile impact, in the sizes on its hurricane approval table, up to 16 ft wide (14 ft on the 2422 and 2432) and 16 ft tall. Your opening has a calculated design pressure, and we match the door and its approval to that number, which is what the inspector checks. What the installed price includes
Door, track and hardware, and professional installation are in the price. Permit and compliance are quoted separately, our $250 permit processing plus the government fee at cost, which varies by city (see permit costs by city), as are electrical service to the operator, welding or opening repair, lift equipment for high or obstructed openings, and disposal.

Is the Amarr 2400 series impact rated in Miami-Dade?
Yes. The Amarr 2402, 2412, 2422 and 2432 carry a current Miami-Dade NOA for large and small missile impact in the sizes on their hurricane approval tables, up to 16 ft wide (14 ft on the 2422 and 2432) and 16 ft tall. The 2000 series 2002 and 2012 are approved too. The Amarr 2022 has no Miami-Dade impact approval at 12 by 12, so we do not quote it for that opening.
What is the difference between the Amarr 2000 and 2400 series?
The steel. The 2400 series is 24 gauge and the 2000 series is a heavier 20 gauge, which takes more abuse in a busy bay. Within each series the last digits tell you the insulation: the 2402 and 2002 are bare ribbed steel, the 2412 and 2012 add polystyrene with a vinyl back (R-7.0), the 2422 has a steel back (R-7.0), and the 2432 is three layer insulated steel with a thermal break (R-9.4). For a 12 by 12 ft opening, the 2402 is $8,950 installed and the 2002 is $9,350.
