Two lanes: Nassau and Freeport
We quote two Bahamas lanes, Nassau on New Providence and Freeport on Grand Bahama. Both start at the same place: your doors, crated in Miami and handed to your forwarder, who books the sailing and issues the bill of lading.
If the site is on another island, say so on the request. We will tell you which of the two lanes fits and put the ocean leg on your quote.

Ocean freight is on your written quote, worked out per revenue ton (one cubic meter or 1,000 kg, whichever is greater) for your lane, and we confirm the forwarder's rate before booking. Times are on the water and depend on the sailing. Duty, taxes and clearance at destination are the buyer's.

Why it pays to group openings on the Nassau lane
Nassau carries a minimum ocean charge per shipment, and a single door sits under it. That means one small door and one large wind rated door cost about the same to ship, and three doors in one shipment cost far less per door than three separate orders.
Freeport has a lower minimum, so a single door is less affected. Either way, freight is worked out per revenue ton for your port and shows on your written quote.
What you handle at your end
Import duty, VAT, customs clearance and delivery from the port to the site are yours. The amounts depend on how the goods are classified and declared, so ask your customs broker for the figure before you order, not after the doors land.
We supply the commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin your broker files with, and the product approval paperwork for wind rated models.
Hurricane impact doors, with their paperwork
If the building has to stand up to hurricane season, ask for a wind rated or impact rated model. These are the doors we install at home in Miami-Dade and Broward, the Florida High Velocity Hurricane Zone, and each one ships with its Florida product approval documents.
Whether a Florida approval satisfies your plan reviewer is their decision, so check before you order. A wind rated door has heavier sections and takes a bigger crate, which your written quote allows for.

Is it worth shipping a single door to Nassau?
