County, city or village
Three permit offices around the airport
Airport West is not a city. Many of the cargo blocks between the airport and the Palmetto are unincorporated Miami-Dade, so a replacement door there is permitted by the County. Miami Springs, just north of the airport, is its own city with its own building department, and Virginia Gardens is a separate village again. West of the Palmetto the buildings are usually in Doral or Medley, which have their own pages.
We look up the folio before we quote and file with whichever office the building belongs to, with the product approval for the door attached. Every door we install is approved for the High Velocity Hurricane Zone, and repairs to an existing door need no permit. A building with a long row of dock doors is a good fit for semiannual preventive maintenance, logged door by door.

Do not run the operator. A racked door is still hanging on loaded springs. Close the bay if you can do it safely, call us, and we recover the door, check the springs and cables, and quote the damaged sections. Off track or racked recovery is $795, heavy recovery $995.
