For unconditioned space, such as a warehouse, storage or a back of house bay, the ribbed steel 524 or the heavier 20 gauge 520 does the job at the lowest price. If the space is cooled, houses people or product, or the door faces afternoon sun, insulation pays for itself: the 524V, 524S and 520S add a polystyrene core (R-6.6), and the Energy Series Intellicore runs R-16.2 to R-18.4. For a storefront or showroom where the door is part of the look, the Architectural steel 3728 has a flush stucco face, and the Architectural aluminum 904 is the full view aluminum and glass door for showrooms and restaurants.
